Multi Touch Film to Transform any Surface to Touch Screen

The latest technology from a Portuguese company has introduced into the market, a multi- touch polymer film which can transform any surface to a touch -screen surface. This new product named multi- touch skin will make the use of keyboards and other such devices obsolete. All users can henceforth communicate with devices with the help of a touch sensitive screen and their fingers.

So far users preferring touch screen operations have had to by devices specifically designed for such operation. However, the multi touch skin will make it possible to change any surface to a touch screen display capable of reading sensory input. Although touch screens have been part of the device until now this is going to change with this new innovation. With more and more users showing a marked preference for touch screen devices, it is hoped that this product will be a success.

There are many benefits and unique features of this new product. Firstly, the plastic film is thinner than paper and can be affixed to any flat surface. Secondly, the polymer film has a mesh of embedded wire which makes it sensitive to touch. Next, this skin can be used on screens of a wide range of sizes, be it a seven inch screen or a screen three metres wide diagonally. The mesh of wires makes it possible for the film to sense the electrical impulses of touch and then pass it on to the computer for further action. This film can be fitted on a LCD monitor or cell phone or may be put up on a shop window allowing the users to have an interactive display and use it anytime.

A useful addition to any hand-held mobile device, and going by trends something that will catch on and only add to the growing popularity of using mobile broadband.
