American Business Awards’ 2006 Best New Company Intelius seeks the big leap and has filed to go public with a $144 M initial public offering or IPO.
The six-year old Intelius is based in Bellevue, Washington and continues to lead in the online information security as well as the people search market. Cofounded in 2003 by Naveen Jain, formerly of InfoSpace, the firm specializes in supplying intelligence information specifically background checks, protection services, people searches, comprehensive employment screening services and identity theft prevention products.
Its growth figures for 2007 indicate promising profitability for the firm. It posted a revenue increase of over 1566.27% since it was established and has made key acquisitions that are seen to improve its chances in securing a larger market space for its specializations. For its superb performance, Deloitte & Touche has named the company the 8th fastest growing firm for Washington State. Already, it is one of the top 100 most trafficked sites on the Internet according to comScore/Metrix, with an estimated traffic of 1 million users daily and a unique customer base of 8 million.
The tech market has had its eyes on Intelius ever since it successfully launched some of the most innovative tools and technologies. Its identity theft prevention product, Intelius IDWatch, was awarded Best New Consumer Product at the WSA Industry Achievement Awards. iSearch.com was cited at the 24th Annual CODiE Awards for product excellence. The company was also hailed in the American Business Awards as Best New Company for 2006 and as a finalist in 2007 for Most Innovative Company and Best New Product or Service.
In addition to its achievements on growth and innovation, Intelius has also been cited several times for its outstanding philanthropy. It was adjudged by the Puget Sound Business Journal as a Top 15 Corporate Philanthropist and as one of Washington’s Best Places to Work For in 2007.
