Friends of Poker Foes
Poker is certainly the most convenient way to enjoy the excitement of Texas Holdem games. But playing face to face with a group of like-minded individuals makes for a great bonding experience that can transcend the online experience. That is, if you pick whom you play with carefully. There are certain types of folks who might be great human beings and model citizens, but who will totally ruin your poker night if you let them. Perhaps you will recognize these two gentlemen from your last friendly game. First, there is Mr. Won’t Shut Up. He’s the guy who came not to play cards, but to catch up on the latest gossip. He’ll stop the action to quiz everyone on how their work and wife and kids and house and health and dog are doing. Sure, it’s great to converse during a game, but keep the cards flowing! Then there is Mr. Money Bags. He’s doing so well with his new job that the stakes you have set seem like spare change to him. Thus, he will bet wildly and be impossible to read. Funny that he also seems to always be the big winner at the end of the night.
